2008 was like being in a high-five factory. Last night was more like a protect the children from falling drunks factory. The Kansas Jayhawks beat the Ohio State Buckeyes last night in the Final Four. We watched the game at Daniel’s parents’ house. On our way home we stopped in Lawrence to check out the crowd. Mass Street was a madhouse. Daniel led the way, the boys gripped our hands tightly, and I had the baby securely strapped to my chest.
We brought the boys to Lawrence in 2008 after KU won the Final Four game that year. They were only five and three. They gave a million high-fives that night. We wouldn’t let them touch their faces or eat anything until we could wash their hands and douse them in hand sanitizer. Now, nine and seven, they don’t remember it at all. But Daniel and I do. And we have pictures.
My father would like to ask you all something about the KU game.
He’ll be saying mommy next week. I’d put money on it.A baby and his daddy.
This little dude has some unnatural neck strength and head control. He’s practically crawling and talking. That is, when he isn’t sleeping or nursing.
Happy Monthday, Stormy. His smiles bring back that sunny day.Stormageddon is two months old today. At his checkup he weighed 13 lbs 10 oz. He smiles and laughs all the time. He has little conversations with the thermostat and his toy puppy. He is wonderful and beautiful and perfect.
